Heating Equipment Installations

New Energy-Efficient Heating Systems
Today’s heating equipment is more reliable, burns more efficiently, and is quieter than ever. Upgrading your home or business’s heating system is a great way to reduce energy costs by using less heating oil, generating savings that will continue year after year.

At Island Energy, our team of licensed technicians are experienced at installing a wide variety of heating systems. We would be happy to find the right heating solution for your Island home or business.

We recommend quality equipment from leading manufacturers such as Buderus, Weil-McLain and Viessmann. All the equipment we install is backed by a solid manufacturer’s warranty and Island Energy’s own workmanship guarantee.

New Heating Oil Tanks

Our service team can install a high-quality tank that is easily accessible without obstructing the look of your property. We sell only high-quality tanks that are functional, reliable, and inexpensive to maintain.

A routine tune-up keeps your heating system running efficiently.

Your heating system will operate at the highest possible efficiency if it is tuned up every 12 to 18 months. We suggest you schedule a tune-up sometime between April 1st and October 1st to avoid the winter rush.

Island Energy's complete heating system tune-ups include:

  • A thorough brushing and vacuuming of the system and smoke pipe

  • Replacement of the oil burner nozzle

  • Replacement of the oil screen on the fuel pump

  • Replacement of the filter at the oil tank

  • Inspection of the ignition system to the burner and adjustment of electrodes

  • Testing the efficiency of the system

  • Checking all safety measures to ensure proper function

Call us at (508) 696-5959 to schedule your routine system tune-up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if my heating system is not heating properly or will not turn on?

  • Make sure the Emergency Switch (usually located at the top of the stairs leading to the basement) is on.

  • Make sure your thermostat is set for a temperature that is above the current room temperature.

  • Check the fuses and circuit breakers that control your heating system.

  • Check the heating oil level in your tank.

  • Be sure the power switch to the furnace is on.

  • Press your system’s "Reset" button ONE TIME ONLY and call us. DO NOT press the reset button again.

What should I do if the readout on my digital thermostat display is blank?

  • Check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

  • Check to see if the thermostat indicator is switched to the proper setting to activate the display. If this does not work, replace the existing batteries with fresh ones to see if the display functions properly.

  • Some digital thermostats have a “Reset” button on the pad. Press this to restore the original settings and - in some cases - the readout.

  • Many times when the thermostat display flashes a repeating message, the batteries need to be replaced. If you find yourself replacing the batteries more than the recommend number of times per year, a short could exist in the control panel.

What should I do if the burner control has moved to the reset position, shutting itself off?
The "Reset" button is located on the control on the burner, and is normally on the right side of this control. "Reset" buttons are usually red. If the burner control has moved to the reset position, press your system’s “Reset” button ONE TIME ONLY and call us. DO NOT press the reset button again.

Safety tips for seasonal residents.

Here are a few tips to follow that will keep your house safe while you are away:

  • Have a trusted neighbor, friend or caretaker check on your house periodically.

  • Turn down your thermostat to save energy. However, it is not recommended to go below 55 degrees.

  • Please give us the name of a person to contact in the area, as well as a number where you will be, in case of an emergency.

  • Many of our customers also install a type of freeze alarm. This is inexpensive and easy to do. Do not hesitate to call us at (508) 696-5959 for more information.
